The Leica M8 Can Still Find Love!

After years of looking at rangefinders and shooting Fuji gear... Calogero Randazzo happened to rent a Leica M8.2 recently, along with Voigtländer 35mm and Leica 50mm Summicron lenses. Naturally, he discovered the joys of the build quality, the manual focusing experience and connection to his subjects. The image quality in both color and monochrome impressed as well. To make a long story short, he ended up selling his Fuji gear and buying the Leica M8.2, 28mm Elmarit and 50mm Summicron! Read more of his discovery in his blog post, "Hello Leica M8." They began replacing the defective sensors free of charge, and will continue to do so. A trade-up program was also mentioned, and now Leica has made official a trade-up offer allowing those with affected cameras to move up to either the Leica M (Type 240) or the M-P (Type 240). Why not? Most cameras these days allow for shooting video, even if it's a pitiful afterthought or a freebie. Read more below!

A lot of people are stunned — why would you buy a camera that only shoots in black and white?" Because the end result is that it "looks like film. You can shoot in pitch black and it captures every detail. It's like a medium between digital and film.
