Leica M-E (Typ 240) Released

Today, Leica Camera has introduced the M-E (Typ 240), their most affordable digital M camera to date. The M-E (Typ 240) has all of the same features and functions as the well-loved M (Typ 240), with a unique anthracite grey paint on the top and bottom plates and a 2GB buffer from the M-P (Typ 240). The increased buffer allows a continuous burst of ~34 images with a fast SD card, versus only ~13 on the standard M (Typ 240).

Leica Announces Leica Q2

Leica Camera AG today has announced the new Leica Q2 - offering a 47.3MP full-frame sensor (over the Leica Q 24.2MP sensor) capable of DCI and UHD 4K video recording. The lens remains a 28mm f/1.7 (with built-in crops to simulate other focal lengths). The EVF has been upgraded from a field-sequential LCD to an OLED panel with 3.68M dots. The Leica Q2 is the same size as the Leica Q but boasts the same IP52 weather-resistance rating as the Leica SL with a new internal structure to support weather sealing. The camera's controls have been somewhat simplified, and drive mode options have been removed from the power switch. WiFi and Bluetooth are both available and finally, the Leica Q2 gets a higher-capacity battery (also from the Leica SL), getting up to 370 shots per charge. The price comes in at $4,995 USD.
