Film Didn't Die with Kodak

The Financial Times is sharing a video of "Film didn't die with Kodak's Chapter 11" saying, "Kodak's Chapter 11 filing in 2012 was believed to spell the death of film photography. Only a few manufacturers now make film and much less of it, but celluloid appears to be making a comeback. The FT's Steve Ager investigates the resurgent interest in analogue."


Lenny Kravitz Edition Leica M Confirmed

Through multiple sources, we have confirmed that a Lenny Kravitz edition camera is coming now official (see below), and will drop in February. We don't know much more at this point, other than it will likely be a brass/brassed finish and nowhere near as cool as the Leica MP pictured below. He is of course, a Leica shooter and published a book called "Flash" which you can pre-order. Read more below for updates and photos!

Check out the J.B. Camera Designs Pro Bamboo Grip for Leica M240 over on Amazon. It sells for $100 typically, but you can pre-order it for $84.95. It will be released on January 7, 2015. Leica Raising Prices on M System and Accessories

We already posted Leica Camera AG's price increase in Europe on M cameras and lenses but here's the official U.S. price increase. For all sport optics products, the new pricing is in effect immediately. For photography equipment, the new pricing goes into effect on February 1, 2015. Food for thought; the Leica M (Type 240) is going up $950 USD (but don't forget the $750 USD discount currently in effect) - so essentially going up $200 USD.
