Leica Releases Firmware v2.0.2.5 for M/M-P

Leica today has finally released the v2.0.2.5 firmware that made a brief appearance - but quickly disappeared recently. The whopping list of improvements include a new menu item and some bugfixes for freezes occurring during the use of Live View or Video modes. Read more below for details and download links!

Leica Store Manchester to Auction Nick Ut X2

Leica Store Manchester is holding a silent auction for a custom Leica X2 in Silver Chrome. The camera also comes with a limited edition Leica Capri Blue Camera Protector and Capri Blue neck strap. The camera has also been engraved with Nick Ut’s signature, the same engraving that has been given to the camera that Nick uses as part of his enrollment to the Leica Hall of Fame. Apple OS X 10.10.4 Update Fixes MM DNG Issue

Apple has today released the OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 update which, among other issues - fixes the DNG issue with M Monochrom (Type 246) files.

Addresses an issue that caused Photos to quit unexpectedly after importing some Leica DNG files.

Story Behind Mary Ellen Mark' Smoking Girl

Mary Ellen Mark was an acclaimed and prolific American photographer - known in part, for shooting a Leica. Sadly, on May 25, 2015 at the age of 75, Mary Ellen Mark passed away. One of her iconic photos, titled "Amanda and her cousin Amy" (seen above) is a classic example of her style and subject matter. As with any good photo, especially of this sort, there's a story behind it.
