Leica Camera's relatively new (announced on March 7, 2019) Leica Q2 camera apparently has a firmware bug that's writing unreadable DNG files, according to photographer Josh Byers (and others). Images captured in the"continuous super speed" drive mode (capturing images at up to 20fps) report an error on importing, while other images shot in different drive modes imported without problem. Leica has released firmware update v2.0 for the Leica Q (Type 116) camera, bringing numerous new features. Some of them have been on people's wishlists for some time, such as DNG-only mode, extended low shutter speeds and more. The firmware comes in at a hefty 49MB in size! Leica Camera has today released new firmware for most Leica M models, including the Leica M (Type 240), M-P (Type 240), M (Type 262) and M Monochrom (Type 246). The firmware fixes a number of bugs and improves operational stability. Among all of the improvements, one should prove very popular - the end of the infamous “Check Battery Age” message that many users were seeing, despite perfectly functioning batteries. The new firmware also improves continuous shooting, allows the use of SD cards up to 512GB and more. Read more below for details and download links!
