Nick Ut Interview in Vanity Fair

Regulars of the site and Leica shooters in general are likely familiar with Nick Ut. One of his photos, "Napalm Girl" (seen above) of then nine year old Kim Phuc running from a napalm attack in Trang Bang, Vietnam on June 8, 1972 is one of the most iconic photos of the war and the 20th century in general. Check out this newly-posted review in Vanity Fair, "Photographer Who Took Iconic Vietnam Photo Looks Back, 40 Years After the War Ended" regarding that day. It was shot with his Leica M2 and 35mm f/2 lens. That camera is now in the Newseum in Washington.

Silke Bernhardt New Head of Communications

Silke Bernhardt will be taking over for Sandra Sczesny who was promoted recently, into the spot left when Oliver Kaltner was promoted to CEO and left his position as head of marketing. Leica is simply filling vacancies. Read more below for the press release.

New Product Directions for Leica

As we've written about earlier, Oliver Kaltner takes over as CEO of Leica Camera AG, effective today, April 1, 2015. Apparently his extensive background in marketing will have an impact on the future of Leica as well.
