Leica Camera Japan announced a new, limited edition Leica M Monochrom "Silver Engrave" model that will be available only in Japan - and only 30 units will be produced. It will be available as of December 20, 2014. The price is ¥972,000 ($8,200 USD). The Leica M Monochrom "Silver Engrave" model will have the Leica script engraved on the top cover - the regular Leica M Monochrom model does not this; only the product name stamped on the hot shoe. Starting on March 1, 2015 Leica Camera Japan will start offering a classic logo stamp service for Leica M Monochrom and Leica M-E cameras (so you could, essentially, make your own "limited edition").

Adobe on Wednesday announced availability of updates to Adobe Camera Raw 8.7.1 and DNG Converter 8.7.1, bringing additional support for cameras and lenses, while patching minor bugs found in previous versions of the software. The updates will be included in an anticipated Lightroom 5.7.1 update within the next week. The only news for Leica shooters, really, is the addition of support for the new Zeiss Distagon T* 1,4/35 ZM lens.

There's a new Leica Store in Paris at 105 rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. This new flagship store has a total area of 170 m2, which hosts more space for sales and consulting, a photo gallery, a bookshop, a Leica Academy as well as new windows dedicated to derivatives and Leica accessories. The gallery will host 4-5 exhibitions per year, of young talents and established artists working wholly or partly with Leica equipment. The gallery is a place open to the diversity of contemporary art, photographic and artistic looks. A library will allow customers to discover a selection of books selected from the best publishers - Xavier Barral, Watermarks, Andre Brothers, Steidl, Phaidon, Only Photography, Mack... Some of them are part of the selection "Martin Parr", carried out for Leica Camera AG. The current exhibition is the artist Dolores Marat, and you can admire a selection of his paintings at the fully drawn Fresson Workshop; a poetic journey into a colorful world with delicate lights.
