Today Leica Camera AG has announced a long-rumored camera, the Leica X-U (Type 113). It's waterproof, dustproof and shockproof - with a 35mm equivalent lens in front of a 16MP APS-C sensor. Read more below for details and specifications!

Released today are three new Leica M lenses... The Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH in black, Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8 ASPH in black and the Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH in black and silver. The Summicron-M 28mm retails for $3,995 USD (Adorama|B&H), the Elmarit-M 28mm goes for $2,195 USD (Adorama|B&H) while the 35mm goes for $2,795 USD (Adorama|B&H) and $2,995 USD (Adorama|B&H respectively. In you haven't noticed, the Leica Camera Blog has slowly been vanishing, offering up mostly 404 errors. Over on Huffington Post, they noticed "Leica Quietly Kills Blog Content" as well. Leica hasn't offered any info about this. We'll keep you posted. Read more below for updates!

Leica Camera has today released firmware v1.2 for the Leica SL (Type 601) camera. It promises improved image quality as well as that of the viewfinder, along with a handful of other updates. Well worth checking out. Read more below for details!
