Leica Announces Leica X (Type 113)

Today at Photokina 2014, Leica announced a further model in the Leica X line: the new Leica X – made in Germany. Featuring a new Leica Summilux 23mm f/1.7 ASPH prime lens and a sensor that is particularly large for this camera class, it captures exceptionally brilliant pictures. Its versatility is further expanded by a video function for moving pictures in full-HD quality. Together with an extensive range of setting options and an intuitively simple handling concept, the Leica X unites everything that defines the art of photography in an iconic Leica design statement: the joy of seeing unforgettable moments in a particularly personal way. Leica Announces Two New T Lenses

Today at Photokina 2014, Leica has announced two high-performance lenses for the Leica T camera system at Photokina 2014 - the Leica Super-Vario-Elmar-T 11–23 mm f/3.5–4.5 ASPH wide-angle lens and the Leica APO Vario-Elmar-T 55–135 mm f/3.5–4.5 ASPH telephoto lens. Read more below for details!

Leica T Firmware Update v1.2

Leica has released a new firmware update, v1.2 (from v1.1), for the Leica T! Specific download links below or just hit the download area - it primarily includes many new features that further simplify the overall operation of the Leica T camera system and thereby provide even more creative possibilities. Hopefully it addresses some of the issues we discovered in our recent Hands-on with the Leica T (Type 701). Originally, Leica was seeking beta testers for this release, but decided instead to push it out for Photokina 2014. Read more below for details!

Leica D-LUX (Type 109) Coming

Site is reporting that a Leica D-LUX (Type 109) camera has been registered with the Indonesian Communication Agency. Based on the Panasonic LX100 - and both will be released at Photokina 2014 later this month; the Leica as the D-LUX (Type 109) (confirmed!). Read more below for details and updates!

X Vario, Monochrom and Footwear?

BallerStatus mentions in their article "Gourmet Fall 2014 Women’s Lookbook" the Leica X Vario and M Monochrom used to shoot footwear for Gourmet, featuring singer Dev. Seems there are more and more pros shooting with gear you wouldn't come to expect in the studio. Read more below for additional photos!

Gourmet's Fall 2014 women's line continues to evolve for its latest season, shown here in this newly released lookbook. Photographer Mike Selsky shoots the latest footwear offerings on the feet of singer Dev, using the Leica X Vario and Leica M Monochrom cameras. Gourmet's Lite is done in gold cork, Italian red crocodile, and silver reptilian print, all imported from Italy. The women's Fall 2014 collection is now available at select retailers and the brand's online store.
