These are a few of the images I took during the Leica Akademie Street Photography Workshop with Matt Stuart, in Los Angeles. They were shot with the M10 and a 35mm Summilux, on loan from Tom Scott of Leica Akademie. I expected that Matt's coaching would take me out of my comfort zone, and it did!

Thanks very much! When the access problem occurred, I quickly realized how much I missed the company on LVL. I must say, the technical folks at Apple, especially in Seattle, were amazingly diligent about helping me over a period of weeks, even though the issue gave every indication of arising with my ISP, Time Warner Cable/Spectrum. My contact with Time Warner didn't seem to get any action, but perhaps Apple's folks made a technical contact with them, because the problem went away as suddenly as it appeared.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful and safe holiday and new year.

And the same to all you other LVLers out there! :D

Hip-hip-hooray! :D :D :D I not only traded the M9 and M-E for a new M10, the Leica folks in New Jersey repaired my 35mm Summicron-m (now the lens hood clips on and stays on reliably), and with the help of a Senior Tech at Apple I am finally able to access La Vida Leica again. To celebrate, I posted a shot of my "rig" as I usually carry it around.
The paperwork from Leica Service indicated that the groove which the lens hood clips fit into had to be milled an additional .03mm; in addition, they replaced the lens hood with a new one. It took about 23 weeks, but I chalk that up to the fact that I sent it in at the same time as the peak CCD sensor replacement effort was underway.
Ultimately, I believe I was unable to access LVL because of filters that Time Warner Cable/Spectrum had installed somewhere in the signal path which, among other things, had the unintended effect of blocking LVL. I wonder if anyone else experienced this kind of problem. A number of Apple techs worked diligently with me, and we couldn't find anything wrong with my MacBook Pro or its software. A Senior Tech really dove into the issue and I suspect he may have pursued it with folks at Time Warner/Spectrum, because suddenly the problem just went away.
It's nice to be back. I missed y'all.

Very nice rig and how are you getting on the the M 10?

The M10 is all I hoped it would be: (1) carries and feels more like a film Leica M; (2) much quieter shutter than my M9 and M-E; (3) easier to navigate menu(s); (4) long-lasting battery (I don't chimp) given my level of daily use; (5) the electronic frame lines are great in low-light situations; and (6) the CMOS sensor images suit me just fine in terms of color rendition. I carry it around with the 35mm Summicron-M ASPH, ISO set at 800.
Glad you liked the photo of the preacher. I spoke with him before, during and after shooting, and spent about 15 minutes shooting after I found a good place for me to stand to get the passersby, good light, etc. It was part of a street photography workshop, and going up to a stranger was a bit new for me, but once I started I didn't find it difficult.
