Taken in Coney Island, home of the
Mermaid Parade - from 2011. I only had the M9, 50mm f/1.1 Nokton and a three-stop ND filter...
In retrospect I could've done without it. The idea was to shoot fairly wide open to isolate the parade-goers from the surrounding (massive) crowd. But alas, my position got shifted right before the parade started and once it did it didn't let up. Focusing on each person wasn't ideal so I just pre-focused and stopped down. I didn't really want to bother with taking it off mid-parade and in such a crowd. All good, no biggie.
