I tried to order one of these as I dislike using glasses with my cameras, and I'm astigmatic enough that my Japan Exposures magnifier/corrective lens isn't always getting me in exact focus. Sadly I ended up with a refund as Jean-Louis says he's having production problems. I wished him well and expressed a hope he would let me know if they become available again. Does anyone know if this is likely a permanent production shutdown, or shall I keep my hopes up?

Don't go through Jean Louis. Go through Walter (there's a difference - now). Walter has a much more evolved Eyepiece. I still swear by them, and have one on every body.

The other solutions (Japan Exposure, Leica, etc.) are just magnifiers - and won't help whatsoever with astigmatism.

Ah, thank you. I have used the link in your review and come up with a different website, so I have ordered from there. I had thought the two guys were in business together, but perhaps that's no longer the case.

They used to be... ;)

Google does bring up the old site in the results. The new one is the way to go, which is in the review.

What a wonderful device this is! I'm finding it much better than using my glasses, which I don't normally wear. It does restrict the area of the viewfinder you can see more than a magnifier does, but I can still see the frame lines for a 35mm lens. Expensive, but worth it.
