I need a strap--looking for recommendation.

I suppose in the end it will probably be the Luigi/leicatime--probably black with red lining. But I'd be interested in hearing about your strap choices and seeing your set-ups. Also if you have a link, much appreciated.

Only thing about Luigis is that website is just downright painful to navigate. Really he should splurge and get something that a little easier to weed through. Looks extremely homemade. And not in the good way.

Luigi's website is definitely from another planet. Thankfully, he spends his time on his products instead and I've been nothing but happy with two half cases w/straps. They're durable, come in a ton of colors and lengths - and I've not had any sort of failures or issues. Plus, they only get better with age.

Some prefer the Artisan & Artist type (round, woven silk) straps. They do have a bit of an advantage in sliding around your neck/body for a quick draw, but are a little pricey. If you're interested in these, I might suggest the equally nice (IMO) but much cheaper Street Strap.

Thanks so much. I think the Luigi straps are great. I just took the plunge and spent about 30m going through that site. Ordered the black with red lining for the M and a Cognac with brown suede lining for the MP.

You're very welcome. Even if you don't get on with the Luigi stuff, you can sell it on for little to no loss... I wouldn't worry. The combos sound excellent. I went with all "rally" myself, but that black w/red stitching has been teasing me for years. Here are some random shots of mine over the years:

Jungle tested (seriously, this set went to Belize with me)! :D

I might point out that the Ikon case fits on the M7, too. :)

you've got me considering cases now. I really like the one on the Zeiss Ikon. Love your travel scenario. What kind of watch is that? I'm also deep deep into watches. I'll have to devote some time to shooting some of my collection.

Thanks! While yes, the shot is clearly staged; it was entirely motivated by having just come back from Belize. The M8 and 25 ZM was my default setup, with the CV 35 a close second. I wore the pants, hat and watch while there - and bought the little statue and wooden wall plaque there as well. :p

Some people hate cases, some people love cases. For a film camera, I'd probably forgo using one, as you have to take it off every 36 exposures... Digital, you're good for a couple hundred shots. Personally, I like them. They really do protect the body, the little bubble adds a bit of grip - and well, they look neat and add a personal touch. I've gotten several comments on my "old camera" (you can't see the LCD).

In that Ikon shot, you can see Luigi's "Quick Release" strap. I would NOT suggest it. I ended up cutting them off and using the regular rings. This is my only Luigi caveat/complaint.

The watch shown is a Tissot T-Touch, one of the original versions. Alas, something gave up the ghost; I thought it was a dead battery. Nope. It has to go back to a Tissot service center. So we'll see what happens... Cool watch, and I coordinated around the orange a little... LOL. Plus I'm a sucker for titanium. Oddly enough, if you're a fan of NCIS - Gibbs has the same one. :)

Thanks for that shot-- love it. Looks rugged. Something about red and orange accents on a watch do it for me. (Hmmmm: "red accents...." ie a certain badge on our favorite camera?). And Tissot is a good brand too. Maybe we should start a watch porn thread. For me that could get out of hand pretty quick.

Must admit, the M3 works well with my black A&A strap! Next strap will be a Luigi after I win the lottery and get a half case with the proceeds.
