It's in June. Hope you can make it!
http://www.maam.org/maamwwii.html This year I'm considering bringing a pre-war Kodak Cine Special.
Another wonderful event--and a perfect use for a Leica A--is the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island (ferry ride from Manhattan).
http://www.jazzagelawnparty.com/ Glad you enjoyed the photographs, which were the best of the lot. Most of the others had anachronisms, such as German soldiers chatting on iPhones.
For something closer to the season, try attending the Easter Parade in New York City. Fifth Avenue from about 38th st to Central Park is closed to motor traffic, and filled with hundreds of people in Easter hats and ensembles, tasteful and otherwise. Here's one I shot with my M3/pre-asph Summilux/Acros 100.
