I have never been quite clear about the nomenclature of this lens, since different people use different labels. From what I now glean the version II includes all of the Rigids (1956-68). If anyone can comment, are the earlier ones (narrow focus ring, feet-only scale) as good as the later version from the late 1960's (wider focus ring, dual scale [ft/metres]? The one I'm looking at was born in 1960, has the narrow scalloped focus ring but a flawless front element-a rare find. I would imagine by 1968 the coatings were improved but does it really matter? |
