Hello all, has anyone had an experience of using the Sekonic L 608 Light Meter? Thinking of buying one to help my ageing eyes.

Hmm, haven't used that one... I'm using the L-308. Nice meters.

I haven't used the L608, but I found a Sekonic 1-page users guide which may be helpful to you:

I sympathize, regarding the aging eyes problem.

A pdf of the L608 users manual is also available online:

After our posts, I got curious and checked or reviews of the L608. The Luminous Landscape blog gave it a very complimentary review.

I've had one for about 15 years now. It's a superb meter if a little bulky but the spot metering with zoom as well as incident metering and the ability store up to 10 separate readings more than make up for it. It also has flash capability as well but never really used it.

Dave.

Thanks Dave and James. I have taken the plunge and found a s/h one on UK eBay. While it was £205 it is much cheaper than the lastest model coming in at closerer to £400. Like you DaveM I have little interest in flash but really will welcome the spot meter. I have downloaded a copy of the manual James so thanks to both the heads-up. Here's so a vast improvement in my landscapes (always wishful!!!)
