Post subject:  How About that New 5K Retina iMac?
The new Apple iMac with Retina 5K Display... Anyone else interested?

I know I was - and ordered mine, literally, the minute the Apple Store came back online after the event last week! I opted for the 4GHz CPU, 16GB RAM, AMD M295X and 256GB SSD upgrades. Should be here in a few more days!

With a resolution capable of displaying 14.7MP, it should be killer for post-processing images. While not 18MP or even 24MP, it's still huge (no pun intended). It means a lot less scrolling, for one thing - and more screen real estate for toolbars, etc.

Unfortunately, a standalone 5K Thunderbolt Display doesn't seem to be in the cards, which this iMac (or any other Mac save for maybe the Mac Pro) could drive anyway... But a 4K is pretty darn likely (and can be used with this iMac no problem).

Goes without saying, we'll be doing an in-depth review on it for the site here, at least all the new things over the existing iMacs (e.g. display, CPU, GPU, etc.).
