Kodak sponsorship with Disney Parks to end this year

The sponsorship agreement between Kodak and Disney will be ending on December 31 2012.

The guide maps and following locations are all currently associated with Kodak and will have changes made to remove the brand in early 2013. The brand removal will also take place at Disneyland.

Mickey's PhilharMagic at the Magic Kingdom
MuppetVision 3D at Disney's Hollywood Studios
All park picture spots
Epcot Camera Center
Cover Story at Disney's Hollywood Studios
Garden Gate Gifts at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The latest Magic Kingdom park guide map, which was just published - is the first in a lifetime without Kodak sponsorship (scroll down to bottom of pictures).

This sign on Main Street U.S.A. (Town Square Theater) is also probably on borrowed time:

Its too bad. As one reads their history and all they had created, they could still be the leaders in several fields of imaging today.

But they blew it. They weren't willing to change. Weren't willing to take the initiative to market some of their greatest innovations.

Leica was almost in the same place and still can be if this new M does not meet expectations.

^ So true, Duane. It really is a sad fall from grace for such a company. They innovated with digital - but didn't follow through.

The latest park maps came out on March 3, 2013 - the back cover Kodak promo stuff (seen above)... Is GONE.

Signs at the parks still exist - here are two still at Animal Kingdom:

Here's another Kodak mention - right near the entrance to Disney's Hollywood Studios:

Old school! I even remember looking at these Disc Cameras and getting a little excited.

This is the back of the EPCOT Center park guide from August 1983!

A whole bunch of updates in this pass. When you've got them on the brain, you suddenly see them everywhere! The old Kodak shop in the Imagination! pavilion in Epcot is long empty, also. For Muppetvision 3D below, "Presented by Kodak" was just removed.
