Besides LFN Wetting Agent (another product I've been using for a long, long time) is "Perma Wash" by Heico. Freestyle Photo among others carry it. One inexpensive bottle will last you a looooong time as it's mixed up to a dilute working solution (which is re-used rather than as a one-shot).

It will cut down your wash times for both prints and negatives by half, easy! This alone makes it worthwhile and environmentally responsible. It helps to ensure that all traces of fixer have been removed.

My fixing cycle is usually followed by a quick water rinse to remove any remaining fixer and extend the life of the Perma Wash - which is a quick one minute soak w/constant agitation.

Michael, is this the same as a hypo clearing agent? because I was just at freestyle today and they (and it seems everyone else online) have stopped carrying the ZONALpro Archival Rinse I'd been using...

I've used Perma Wash for over 30 years. Great stuff. None of my prints have shown any yellowing in that time. Just follow the directions. Will sit on the shelf in concentrate forever.

Yes, Perma Wash is essentially hypo clear.

Totally agree, jeverettfine - I too have been using it for some 30 odd years, and it just works. One bottle lasts a looooong time as the working solution is quite dilute but I also give a quick water rinse between chemicals so this helps stretch out the life further. Easily lasts a year on the shelf mixed up, depending on use. Concentrate? Yeah - even longer! It's even cheap.

Quite welcome!

I might also suggest a small bottle of LFN Wetting Agent in place of say, PhotoFlo. Another great product that's dirt cheap, lasts forever and of course, works great.

I had seen your article on the LFN before, also in my cart for my next order! Thanks for the advice, as I'm still trying to get my developing to a consistency I'm happy with.
