Leica Releases Summilux-M 90mm f/1.5 ASPH

Leica Camera today has released the Summilux-M 90mm f/1.5 ASPH lens. Consisting of an optical design with eight elements arranged into six groups, two of which are aspherical, as well as a floating lens element group. Offering a depth of field just half that of the legendary Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH and sporting 11 aperture blades, the bokeh is sure to please. Priced at $12,995 USD. Read more below!

Leica Announces Leica SL2 Camera

Leica Camera today has released an upgrade to its four year old SL - the Leica SL2 mirrorless camera (after images were leaked two months ago). Headline features include a 47MP sensor, IBIS w/multishot capability, improved Maestro III processor, 5.76MP OLED EVF, ergonomics and weathersealing. Leica SL2 Images Leaked

Nokishita has shared images and specifications for a new Leica camera it claims is the SL2. According to the leak the new camera (codenamed Vader) will feature a 47MP CMOS sensor and feature 4K video recording with a new "CINE Mode." The leak also notes the camera will have both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and be compatible with Leica’s mobile app, FOTOS. Read more below for details.

Leica Q2 FW Bug Writing Unreadable DNG Files

Leica Camera's relatively new (announced on March 7, 2019) Leica Q2 camera apparently has a firmware bug that's writing unreadable DNG files, according to photographer Josh Byers (and others). Images captured in the"continuous super speed" drive mode (capturing images at up to 20fps) report an error on importing, while other images shot in different drive modes imported without problem.
