Have any LVL members used Adobe LightRoom 6?

I have been using LR5 since I got a free copy with my new M-E, and I like it very much. I saw that LR6 is now bundled with new Leica M cameras, and wondered whether it is worth upgrading (the software; I KNOW its always worth upgrading M cameras ;) ). I checked the comparison chart on Adobe's website, but the additional features in LR6 don't seem particularly useful to me. I'm not likely to use facial recognition software, for example.

Adobe software upgrades have been on a declining ROI for years now, and each iteration is worse than the last. Honestly, I doubt it's truly worthwhile - especially if you're not a CC customer. And, it seems that LR6 has some speed issues with GPU acceleration.

I'd wait a while, at least.

Seems that if you're a Mac Retina user - good. Windows PC? Bad.

Thanks for the observation. I'm not a "natural" with computers, so the last thing I want to do is add LR6 bugs to my incompetence!

Yes, I use a MacBook Pro 15" Retina laptop, with a CalDigit 2TB external HD.

Thanks for forwarding the helpful threads, too.

Even if my Mac may experience an increase in LR operating speed, it probably would not be worth it, for me, to upgrade. Metaphorically, I'm a "hunt & peck" kind of guy when it comes to post-processing.
