Hello everyone, I love the Leica M8, especially for black and white. One thing I've somewhat struggled with is accurate framing I came across a post by someone of Facebook claiming that using a 21mm lens on the M8 would use the ENTIRE viewfinder as your frame with no need for frame lines Not sure if I actually want to try this..but is this true? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated Thanks! |

I think that a 24mm is useable on an M-9 and above using the whole viewfinder. Definitely not a 21. |

The widest framelines on the M8 are for a 24mm... So if you use the whole VF, you could approximate a 21mm. |

In other words, a 35mm lens would be a 47mm equivalent (and you'd use the 50mm framelines). A 21mm lens would be a 28mm lens equivalent, and therefore you would use those framelines. |
