I am sorry, this topic must have been discussed to death.
But i haven't been able to find clarification on this:
If you use uncoded lenses (50 Summicron, CV 21/4, Zeiss 35/2 in my case) on the M8.2, and you have set Lens Detection to "ON + UV/IR", will the camera still compensate for the IR filter even without being able to read the lens?
I realise the camera needs to understand what lens is used to accurately remove the cyan vignetting or whatever else is happening, but i'm wondering if it will do an overall compensation in the white balance etc, or do you HAVE to code the lenses?
I have used a sharpie to code my lenses, but it wears off. I can have the Summicron coded for $300, but i can't do that on the Zeiss and Voigtlanders.
Thanks
