Not yet, but as time goes by and I read positive reports like yours, I come closer to selling the M9 and M-E and getting an M10. I'm stuck right now, though: both CCD bodies are in service in NJ, having their sensors replaced. It's been three months...and counting. Your photos with the M10 are beautiful.

Isn’t Leica offering upgrade to M10 deals for sensor corrosion incidents?

You might benefit from taking up on such offering for the M9, then get the M-E sorted and sell it afterwards...or the other way around, depending on how the used market is looking for reg. preference M9 vs M-E.

Thanks James and both my M-E and MM are at Leica NJ to.

I don't think the M 10 is in the upgrade mix..

The M 10 is insanely responsive. The color is really good and high ISO is about as good as it gets. 20.000 is usable and I will shot all day long at 6400 and 12,800 ISO wit the M 10. 3200 is about the max for me with the M 262. .

Those are the points I find helpful in making the M9 vs M10 decision. The other factor I think might be important to me is the improved viewfinder, which may enable me to use the 35mm and even the 28mm while wearing my glasses. My feeling is that the glory of a rangefinder is the space around the framelines (which is why I use the 50mm so much, and have not invested in a 28mm yet). Alas, the M10 is not offered in the upgrade package.

35 is about the limit reg space around the framelines. I don’t wear glasses, as I have crystal clear vision and still the 28 is at the edges with no space to spare.

Thank you for the spot-on clarification! As things stand now, the 35mm frame lines on the M9 and M-E leave me little or no effective space outside the frame, so I don't the full compositional power of the rangefinder with the 35mm lens and my eyeglasses. When I tried the M10 with a 35mm in the store, I got the impression there was more "free space," although I didn't have time to make a careful comparison.

I'd rather have fewer lenses and be able to get the most out of them in terms of composition. Speaking just for myself, I fear that with too many focal lengths at my disposal (and this is true with zoom lenses, too), I am much less decisive about framing the subject. I suppose I feel more creative, or more in control, working within limitations.
Did you use a 28mm lens for the images you posted in this topic?

My 28 is still at the dealer, waiting for rest of my goods to arrive. Until now I’ve been shooting nocti & 35/1.4 zm on the M10. The 35 goes when the 28 comes...

It was a realisation whilst shooting with the Q, that I prefer 28 over 35. And as you said, I also start to hesitate if I have too many lens choises.

James if you were asking me I usually only shoot my personal with with a Leica 35 1.4 Summilux FLE asph. 35 mm is a FoV on FF that is the way I seem to naturally see so everything posted here was shot with that lens.

I have a 24 2.8 Elmarit and a 75 2.5 Summarit and a Zeiss 35 2.8 Bogen C.

The 75 I do most of my formal portraits with and I also use my 24 a fair amount when doing commercial work but the 35 is still what I shoot probably 60%+ or my commercial work with also.
