I just picked up an M 262 and a used 90 cron (1980-1998 IIRC)

The new M 262 is a great compliment to my original MM.

It has an amazingly quiet shutter. Quieter than the M 240 and a lot quieter than the original MM. It is also a lot lighter than the m 240. Aluminum instead of brass. This is the M I was really hoping that Leica would release. They did so I bought one.

Thanks James. I just shot my first commercial assignment with it today and so far so good.

Haven't been able to get out with the new combo yet but I have been able to get Lucy to sit still for a quick portrait.

Wow, nice! Congratulations and happy shooting!

The shutter really is amazingly quiet. I wish all the digital Ms were that quiet! Much more like the film cameras. They spoiled us.

Great animal portrait! I assume you shot with the 90mm; the separation between subject and background is just right and there's a real sense of space around the subject. Well done! By the way: is Lucy a Puli?

All this talk about the 262 may cause a relapse of gear acquisition syndrome. Doggone-it! ;)

That would be a cat-astrophe! One bad pun deserves another!

I agree: the photos are terrific. I love the way you composed them! As for the puns, it doesn't bother me that much (provided I take a motion sickness pill beforehand). ;)
