while ignoring price to an extent, and the unbalanced innovation/manufacturing capabilities of Leica.

what's your dream leica camera? in an half-way realistic sense, imagine your camera being produced in early 2020 after launch at autumn event 2019.

Please do NOT critique or comment on any other's personal dream, unless pure applause.

thank you.
best regards,
Carlos.

my dream leica

Leica MP black paint

M with faster CPU, better 4K Video (Global Shutter) and much better ISO.

MM3 like M60 and 2015 delivery.

Accessory
- Mic+headphone grip
- wifi+gps grip
- AF Flash + Video-light.

I forgot:
- a honest engraving: Made by Leica.
Avoiding such complexity of: designed in Wetzlar, produced, pre-built and tested in Portugal, final assembly and test in Wetzlar. Sales around the world.

Start with a black-paint M9.

Either (1) replace the CCD with an improved CCD (no cover glass problems), perhaps with faster processor, or (2) replace the CCD with the M's CMOS sensor and processor.

No video. No electronic viewfinder attachment.

Keep the frame selector; no USB connector.

Heavy-duty cover on LCD screen.

Script "Leica" logo with "Made in Wetzlar Germany" engraved on top.

If feasible, higher eyepoint deigned into viewfinder to accomodate astigamtism/eyeglasses without accessory eyepiece.

Black-finish 35mm Summicron-M ASPH with rectangular lens hood that doesn't come off so easily.

Film body in Chrome or Black.... not bothered which.

M2 framelines. 35/50/90

Dare I utter the words.......Hinged back ??!!?

Guaranteed spare parts for at least another 50yrs... I want a camera for life and my kids life.

Self timer.

Frame selector lever.

Light meter.

I agree so much with James regarding the engraving.

So basically .85 finder a la carte Leica mp, as you can order it with the specified framelines. Only missing the hinged back, everything else is there.. now that I think of it, self timer too. But close enough?

An M9 with Sony's stabilization;
Maybe a bigger sensor but with no UFO's;
An x sync;
The ability to assign file names à la Lightroom;
Keywording à la lightroom;
Just Leica and Leica Camera AG, Germany as engraving;
And since I'm an old luddite let's go back to the M3 viewfinder.
