The month of July starts off with the 4th, which is Independence Day in the U.S... A time of fireworks and celebration.

But in this thread, every celebration is welcome! Cinco de Mayo, birthdays, new years... Let's get this party started:

Not as pretty as your wonderful images Michael but a timely reminder and 'celebration' of the enduring links between the UK and The USA

Although not born in Wolverhampton, Button Gwinnett lived here for a number of years trading as a Merchant. He met and married a local girl before emigrating to America where he prospered as a Merchant and Plantation owner. An avid supporter of the right of representation he was the second person to add his name to the Declaration of Independence.

Happy 4th July, from the Mother Country and enjoy and celebrate the wisdom and words of those visionary men. :)

Thanks a lot, guys! :)

Bob, that's some really interesting insight into Button Gwinnett. Perhaps a little sad that I would have never recognized the name otherwise.

I celebrated my 30th birthday a few weeks back. You can't call it a party unless you roast a pig and play music through the wee hours.. :)

Indeed, happy belated 30th birthday pobe! Can't go wrong with a pig on a pole and some beer. :)

7th July 2012: out for the usual evening walk with the dog and stumbled across this local 'celebration' as the Olympic torch passed through my neighbourhood. i stuck around for a while, grabbed a few shots and continued with the walk.
