Got the camera over the weekend, and just this evening had a chance to shoot while the kids were playing in the driveway at dusk. Sorry, I don't have the stones to post unedited out-of-camera shots, so these have "light" photoshopping. Plus I didn't even bother to set the white balance (fading light was my excuse). And I broke my own rule: "always always always read the manual...." Extremely happy so far. I know these aren't going to win any awards, but I'm super-impressed with the IQ.

My artist and my tomboy.

All Auto ISO (200); Summicron 50/2 (think it's 4th version--can't remember--too lazy to look up the SN). All at f2.0 or 2.4

Very nice start. I particularly like the last.

Thanks. I realize these won't win any contests, but I'm partial to the subjects. :D

Lovely shots. I really like that first one; just wish I could see a little more of the ball.

What is this "manual" you speak of? :D

Haha. I know right? I'm a little frustrated with the Auto ISO. Trying to figure out how to override that. I don't think M8 had it. If it did, it was easy to ignore, so king as you stay below 400.

The original has more of the ball, it just required me to ignore the rule of thirds...and like I said, I don't have the fortitude to show you an uncropped, unedited shot....haha.

Thanks for the comments.

Here are few more from today. Unfortunately one of those beauties above was not having a good day and on the verge of a meltdown so I couldn't really concentrate on shooting anything. This is my cousin's bakeshop in Charleston, SC this morning.

A few more from old Chucktown...

Sweetgrass basketweaver's stand in the Market, and one of my munchkins.

Here are a few more.

I was doing a shoot for my sister and her family while they were at the beach (using DSLRs), and I just wanted to grab a couple shots with the M. My 7yo nephew said, "Ooh is that the camera you put a picture of on Instagram for no reason?"

My neice, and my tomboy (helping me clean out the garage).
