i'll say this: it's not easy.

but it took a few games and i am liking what i see --- i also pack a nikon d3 and sometimes f5, but leicas can be used for sports- -

the riverkings were wearing pink for breast cancer awareness

I've used my M8 to shoot professional boxing with excellent results.

Hockey is particularly challenging for even DSLRs... Fast-moving action, crappy lighting.

Thanks!

Hockey isn't particularly challenging if you're working with the team and/or venue. They have strobe packs mounted in the rafters that can be controlled with pocket wizards.

My team doesn't have the strobe packs... they don't have the hole in the plexiglass, the lighting is brutal, but it's a small venue....

But its fun. 99% is shot on the nikon d3.. But it's a good challenge to shoot on the m8

For RCR: Those boxing shots are terrific! Given the apparent depth of field and sharpness of the images, I gather the available light was very bright. Do you recall using supplementary strobe?
