Having just bought a M240 + 50 slux asph, I figured I'll post "first pics".

These two are among the first ones and I kind of like them :)

Wife is out of the country for a couple of days and daughter was already sleeping.. so I helped myself some red..

The irony here is that the street sign clearly bans driving, but the text below says "except for cars" :)

Btw, in the background the tower is part of Finland's presidents summer house and you can see the presidential sauna in the photo as well. It's the low profile building right above the signs on the right. The presidents summer season hasn't started yet.. when the national flag is up, president is around.

Nice shooting, Juha... Welcome back! :)

The first shot is nice and moody. I like it! As for the second... I'm not sure I'd drive on that, LOL. Is it really a good idea to advertise that the president is around?

Thanks DN, it's good to be back in the fold.

As for the president, it's a tradition that's been going on for the past 92 years. And as far as I'm aware there's never been any incidents.

They also take all foreign heads of state there during summer months.. so the sauna has been used by the likes of Nikita Khruschev, Gorbatshov, Putin, George W. Bush, Elisabeth II, Kofi Annan etc etc..

So it's propably quite safe :-)

They actually have open tours in the gardens during the summer. Planning to go there this year to visit.. it's just 10-15km from my house.

That's pretty neat. And I'm sure you don't have the "security concerns" that we might have over here. Sounds like it would make for a nice photo tour, those gardens. Looking forward to see your results! :)

I've done similar tours here, but the presidential houses/estates have long been empty!

It's mid-afternoon New Year's Eve and your #1 has me salivating and looking forward to the evening to come. A great advert for the 50 'lux, which I yearn for.

I think I see your image reflected in the wineglass: a self-portrait in candlelight. Nice! Welcome back.

Haha, yup! I see a head in the glass. And the TV in the background. Good catch.

I too really enjoyed your wine reflections, but as a former boater, also enjoy seeing marine images. So I appreciate your second shot as well, particularly the lone fisherman at the end of the dock. Or maybe he is just enjoying the view with his lunch in the cooler in back of him.
