I like the composition; It looks like you shot a little wider open to avoid camera shake at twilight which is obviously the only option, but the foreground would have been sharper at f/16 and a tripod

Alex thanks for the comment on checking the meta data the fstop was f10 & I used a monopod I could have closed and gone from 1/250 to 1/60 to sharpen the foreground but monopod and 90mm at 1/60 may have still blurred the image, but on the other hand I could have doubled or trebled the iso from 200, well maybe next time I have food for thought :-) Thanks again for taking the trouble! It is rather quiet on this site, I notice people visit but don't participate. Hellooo out there!!!

I like the shot, but like Alex - noticed the slight softness in the foreground. At f/10 it seems there should've been more DoF. Perhaps focusing closer to the foreground and letting the DoF extend into the scene would've done the trick without stopping down more.

The site's a little quiet, but we've got a bunch of members now and things are picking up slowly. We just have to collectively start posting more... Pull those fence-sitters in. :P

Mike thanks for the comment, I will visit the site again and see what I can pull out of the bag to improve but will take my tripod along too.

Quite welcome! I love the mood in the photo.

I think a tripod would totally do the trick. That would allow you to keep the ISO down too, avoiding any noise and stop down to say, f/11. Focus about halfway into the scene if not a little towards the front - basically hyperfocal distance.

Check over on DOFMaster for the calculations.

So do I - use the online calculator and/or tables... :)

If you have an iPhone try SimpleDoF which is free and you can carry it around with you! Not sure if there is an Android version if you use that phone OS, but there may be an alternative.
