Anyone else enjoy shooting with a TLR? Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure of shooting a nice Rollei. Just Seagull and Yashica. The beauty of medium format? Even inexpensive cameras and lenses can produce some really lovely negatives! Here's a shot of my Yashica Mat-124G, followed by a shot from it. |

The Rolleiflex 135mm is kind of a dream camera if I where to take the Plunge into medium format. But every time I consider one, I realize I'd probably rather put the $3k(ish) into a Summilux 50 or an M9/M10 |

I had a Rollei TLR for many years, until i sold it and went for a Hasselblad- A 500CM, then A Superwide ( the best) and recently a 501CM with a 40mmCF Fle lens- almost as good as the superwide. You are quite right- there is little to touch medium format, especially when you get your teeth into it ! |

I have a love-hate relationship with my Rolleiflex 2.8GX. I don't find it that pleasurable to use and I rarely have results that I like. My particular camera came with a plain ground glass screen and not the usual grid screen with the focusing aid in the middle. One of the things I struggle with is keeping the camera straight and level when I'm shooting - the camera is very sensitive to slight movements when composing. A grid screen would certainly help me deal with problem. I know that I must invest the time to use the camera regularly, which I don't do. I've thought a lot about selling it since prices have recently increased significantly. But since I know that I haven't given it a fair shake and because its just so damn beautiful to look at, I can't do it! |

The Yashica Mat 124G was the first camera I bought. I love the images that can capture and many of my youth memories are on 120 film. I need to purchase a new battery and use it (film is on the frigo) |

About three weeks ago, I lucked out and picked up a mint condition Rolleiflex 3.5 MX-EVS for a sweet price. I've shot seven rolls so far, and am very pleased with the results. Very nice shots. I have this vision in my head of low-contrast soft focused portraits shot with a TLR. It's something I want to learn about and get into someday, but right now would be down a rabbit hole of distraction...so many TLRs and various lenses out there for relatively cheap on ebay and I have no idea how to evaluate whether something is a decent buy or if I'm getting ripped off. |

Great shots, Antonio! I must have missed these somehow. I'm sure those sorts of TLRs are out there, but I've been nothing but impressed with the ones I've shot. My first was a Seagull; many, many years ago. Cheap as it is/was, it takes respectable shots. Alas, it wasn't mine and I didn't shoot another until I picked up a Yashica Mat 124G. Also quite nice, considering the cost. I think MF makes up for a lot of sins... I can only imagine that a Rollei would be awesome, on many levels. |
