Looking forward to seeing the results. But as long as the kids had fun...the photos will be memorable

Will take a little time; I've got about 1,800 DNGs to sort through... LOL. :D

Kids? Just two adult ones. :p

Haha. Ah yes that's right, adult kids need their escapes too.

Gawd help me... I'm going back for another week! In case you missed it, here are the photos from the last trip. :)

This time I'm bringing the 21mm f/1.8 Ultron (as opposed to the 21mm f/4 Color Skopar) and Tele-Elmar-M 135mm f/4 (for Animal Kingdom)... And scaling up the bag a notch from the Retrospective 5 to a Crumpler Six Million Dollar Home. Just enough space for an extra lens and a little more breathing room for the camera (so I don't have to remove the finder and can fit it with any lens attached). Should also make lens changes a lot easier; something that was a little fiddly before.

You crazy man. I was so inspired by your pics I almost went while in Florida for business this past week...but alas, too little time (and energy).

What other lenses are you planing on bringing, or just the 21mm and 135mm?

Thanks! I know, right? I am crazy! But each time it's a new "angle" - this time, literally! I plan to use the 21 (at/near wide open with ND) a LOT more this trip... Since it will be quite crowded (meaning get up close to eliminate crowd interference) and necessary to make the topiaries, etc. stand out (at the currently running Epcot Flower and Garden Festival from March 6 - May 19). So the faster speed makes sense and it's a good trial by fire of the new lens, if nothing else.

Time and energy are key ingredients though, you're right. This trip I have SIX days, plus a day on either end to chill at the pool (staying at POR this time). Heh... On one day, MK is open from 7am to 3am because of EMH!

I'm bringing the lenses I brought last time, but exchanging one and adding one - so:

  • 21mm f/1.8 Ultron (from 21mm f/4 Color Skopar)
  • Summicron-M 28mm f/2 ASPH
  • Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH
  • Elmarit-M 90mm f/2.8
  • Tele-Elmar-M 135mm f/4

The 28/50 combo were my main shooters last trip. The 90mm might be a little redundant in this setup, but it's such a great - and useful lens! So I might leave the 135mm in the room except on the AK day. But I'm thinking I want to use its DoF advantage to pick out details and blow out the rest (e.g. people).

I have two 3-stop NDs; 58mm (for the Ultron) and 46mm (for all the rest). I had the 46mm last time but didn't use it once, go figure. It wasn't crowded and I shot stopped down a lot. But that's it. Again - no flash, no tripod, nothing else. So only a little bigger/heavier than last time (which was perfect). I also plan to try stitching and HDR a bit this time.
