I recently received an email announcement regarding 2016 Leica Akademie events. I thought I would post a summary for the convenience of LVL members. You can find more details at: https://us.leica-camera.com/Leica-Akademie/Calendar

Explore California during three "Leica in the Landscape" Destination workshops.
This year Leica Akademie's landscape focused workshops will head to Monterey and Big Sur, the Eastern Sierras, and Yosemite National Park. Instructors: Tom Brichta and Michael Phaling. Each trip includes lodging and will be limited to a maximum of 10 students.

Big Sur & Carmel, CA - April 18th - 22nd, 2016
Eastern Sierras, CA - October 10th - 14th, 2016
Yosemite National Park , CA - November 1st - 5th, 2016

Food Photography: Washington, D.C.
DC-based food photographer Scott Suchman will teach this full-day food photography workshop using a variety of Leica cameras, including the M, T, and SL. Participants will learn how to properly work with Leica close up gear, adapters, and the full range of lenses- wide angle to telephoto, using natural light and styling tricks to create mouth-watering still-life images of raw and prepared food. Open to photographers of all skill sets. Loaner cameras will be available.

March 6th, 2016, 10AM - 5PM at the Leica Store DC

Leica Weekend with James Law: Los Angeles
James Law, former UFC Chief Photographer and Photo Director will take the Leica Akademie in-the-ring to follow the story of combat sport athletes. Students will have full access to sparring and training sessions with professional MMA athletes. James will cover in-the-ring shooting techniques, athletic portraiture in the gym for magazine cover shoots, and editorial/journalism style shots throughout the day, giving students a real-world experience. Students will have access to a large selection Leica camera bodies throughout the day. We will also be introducing students to the versatile Leica SL.

March 18th - 20th at the Leica Store LA

Street Photography Weekends: Miami, New York and Seattle
Four intensive 3-day workshops exploring the finer points of the tradition of Street Photography. Photographers Matt Stuart, Richard Bram and Peter Turnley will lead workshops; each weekend features a different photographer, which provides the opportunity to learn something new from each expert. Ideal for intermediate to advanced photographers.

Miami - April 1st - 3rd, 2016 - Matt Stuart
New York - April 8th - 9th, 2016 - Matt Stuart & Richard Bram
New York - April 13th - 16th, 2016 - Peter Turnley, International Leica Society Meeting Fall Meeting.
Seattle - June 10th - 12th, 2016 - Peter Turnley

Especially Big Sur and Carmel in April, before the summer heat and tourist crowds. I took a painting workshop there in April 2009 (or was it 2010?) and it was absolutely delightful (provided you don't mind the morning fog).

Yeah, the morning fog can be tough... Still, with a little patience!
