Fellow LVL'r jedorme alerted me that the 11th annual Palm Springs Photo Festival will take place April 24 -29, 2016. Leica is one of the Festival's sponsors.

As quoted in their website (2016.palmspringsphotofestival.com):
Quote:
Over the past decade, the Palm Springs Photo Festival has grown into one of the most anticipated West Coast photo events of the year, featuring portfolio reviews from a truly rich array of industry experts and artists, as well as workshops, exhibitions, and evening projections in a beautiful desert landscape.
– David Schonauer, Pro Photo Daily

Daily registration costs $85 per day and includes our symposiums, evening presentations, certain seminars, access to sponsors' headquarters and networking events. Student discounts are available.

The Festival is based at the Palm Springs Hyatt Hotel, and the workshop program and daily symposia are based at the Korakia Pensione. The sponsors' headquarters area, seminars, portfolio review program and registration are based at the Hyatt throughout each day. Evening presentations and parties will be at the Palm Springs Art Museum. Korakia Pensione, The Palm Springs Art Museum and the Hyatt are all within three blocks of each other.

I thank James for posting about this. I am going to be working as a first-time volunteer at this event & will report on anything I become aware of that might be of interest to Leica users. The program content seems more directed at professionals, particularly those involved in fine art & studio work. For my part, I expect to be given schlepper duties suitable for my skills & experience.
