Had a sweet day out in the autumn sunshine yesterday! All shot wide open, of course - with an 8x ND filter to help. Additional minor vignetting added on some (mainly those including a lot of sky). The Noctilux really helped kill the cluttered background in many of these shots, and added a real pop to the subjects.

Here are some more from a different setting, the Japanese Stroll Garden. Same setup as above, sans ND filter (since the scenes were mostly under tree cover, it wasn't necessary).

Some photos from the weekend...

All shot with the M Monochrom, ISO 320, Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 ASPH with a 3-stop (8x) ND filter. PP was pretty basic in most cases, some had Silver Efex Pro applied.

I love the juxtaposition of the cannon and the giant daisy! It reminds me of a famous black & white photograph from the 1970s (if memory serves), of a young woman putting a flower in the muzzle of a national guardsman's rifle.

That was my thought exactly, it's such a contradiction. And then on top you have daisy blooming in the middle of winter. This was one of the moments where I actually wished I had my zm35 with me or the Q and then get closer. I may have to revisit.

The photograph we had in mind was recently re-posted in a memorial for the late Marc Riboud, as one of his iconic images.

I've been itching to break out the Noctilux again... Damn, I have so little free time these days.
