Leica Summicron-M 90mm Pre ASPH lens
It appears to be in great shape but I am having a hard time figuring what the real used value ball park should be.
Anyone have an idea of its value?
Thanks

Not sure of the current value, but roughly a year ago you could pick one up for $1,000.

They're probably going for $2,000 or so now (if not more). Even the Elmarit-M 90mm f/2.8 goes for about $1,400 +/- currently and it was $800 a year, year and a half ago!

eBay is a good indicator of used price. searching previously owned lens store websites will also give you a good indicator of market price. however, with used lenses you may go into problems with mechanical grade, glass grade, and optical grade that cannot be judged by looking at photos. If you buy a lens 30% below market value and the lens is not good mechanically, or has slight fungus inside the lens, or has slight damaged coating or focus issues then it is better to pay 30% more for a lens that has no issues. Be careful with buying used lens though. Many lens that look perfectly clean in used condition may have been dissembled by someone for lens reconditioning. Once dissembled the lens is never in original factory calibration condition and the optical grade may be reduced and focus accuracy may be altered due to the placement of optical elements.
