I bought one of these to keep an M (with lens attached) safely in a non-padded bag. It's great and $35 less than the Leica version (just no pockets for SD cards)...worth checking out if you want to take your M in a (non-camera) bag:

Interesting! I've got one of their pouches from way back in the day that I used with my 35mm Canon A-1. FWIW, top notch construction and materials. I like the neoprene pouch stuff. Lightweight, protective and snug. The only downside (in my experience) has been getting the camera in and out. These things are better for packing your camera into say, a backpack - than actually carrying.

Combine that with some Micro Lens Pouches and you'll really be cooking with gas! :p

Definitely true, it's not a quick draw type of product. I use this in a messenger bag when I'm traveling for business; when my mind has to be on something other than photography. When I'm actually taking photos, the empty pouch stays in the bag and the camera is slung over the shoulder ;)

Wow, NICE! That bad boy on an M would truly be epic. Macro and architecture indeed. You wouldn't really use such a setup, nor need one for infinity shooting per se... But still a small disappointment. I suppose you could just stop down to cover it, provided you weren't trying to do whacky focal plane manipulations.

Zing makes a neoprene pouch that measures 8x8 inches, which is what I have been using. This Op-Tech neoprene pouch looks like a good alternative to my Zing. The Zing pouch is plenty protective but is sort of bulky as it is not fitted to the camera.
