You didn't think you could go completely analog, did you... :D

Exif4Film is a tool for film photographers to record the EXIF data of their pictures and then save it on scanned images. The Android app is used for capturing the EXIF-related data, and the desktop utility or the Adobe Lightroom plug-in can be used for saving the recorded data on actual scans.

I always label my scans by "roll number", camera, and film type in LR; with the lenses used written on the Print File sleeve itself. This is on a whole different level though...too much distraction and work for me, but a good idea.

Don't know a lot about scanning but if it produces an Exif File along with the jpeg/tiff etc than if you don't have an Android phone but use a Mac you can edit the exif with Exif Editor from the App Store.

It does require a certain level of... Commitment. I guess if you're used to having a notepad or something around to write down details - this would be the digital equivalent.

Bob, you're absolutely right - there are a lot of ways to edit EXIF info. This app is kind of meant to be used on both ends of the process... Capture details while out snapping, and flesh out or correct once scanned.

I've always kept a small pad and pen handy in the camera bag - but I can't really say I use it to write down exposures, locations, etc. (though that was the idea). I guess with film I just don't really care so much... Part of why it's so liberating. :p
