Looks like the Plustek USA site has now been updated to include the OpticFilm 120 scanner! Offering a bit more information and pictures, but of course - no firm release date or pricing yet.

Pre-orders are popping up all over the place so a Photokina release looks pretty good. The price appears to be $2k.

Not readily available yet, but it has begun to ship in some areas apparently!

There are also some scans on Flickr from this scanner that look quite amazing!

Cost? $1,999.99 USD via B&H (for example):

Interesting Flickr images. I wonder if its better for 35mm than the current Plustek, or if there's no point unless you intend to scan 120

I hope a new 135 scanner will be released in the future with the technology present in the 120 scanner.

I know, right? They look pretty good!

The only difference between 135 and 120, really, is the size. So I would think this new scanner is better for both/either. I'd actually prefer this model as I shoot as much (if not more) 120 than 135...

I'm pretty happy with my v700, at least for 120 - even if it is a bit fiddly. But for 135 it just sucks. Not because of the scan quality, but the crappy film holder! I'm spoiled by the BS adjustable height holders and ANR inserts.

I use the V700 with ANR to scan entire rolls for web viewing and my Lightroom library, then I use a Plustek 7400 with the same ANR on select images which I intend to print at larger sizes. I have no issues with the 7400, but newer and more advanced is always better to me when it comes to this type of technology.

Well, after considering the options for a while I'm leaning toward buying the Plustek 120 (over a Nikon Coolscan 5000; still serviceable, but expensive to repair). The inconsistency of their qc of the first two batches is a bit troubling--some units have focusing issues (off by about .5mm)--and the fact that Vuescan doesn't support it yet is also forcing me to wait

I'm sure Hamrick is working on the Vuescan compatibility, and Plustek have some kinks to work out, but hopefully everything will be consistent and right before 2014. Eventually I will buy an M240 for color work, and the M film cameras will be used exclusively for B&W, IR, and the rare E6...it just seems a bit silly to have $15k+ worth of modern Leica glass and a $300 scanner (my current Plustek), so that's my logic and throught process behind considering buying the potentially great scanner
