Leica X/T - Headed for Discontinuation?

It shouldn't be any secret that Leica's grand experiment, the Leica T (Type 701) camera system - hasn't sold well. At best, it was half-baked at launch. Now that the Leica Q (Type 116) has been announced (see our in-depth review), the writing is on the wall...

The upcoming "M" camera (interchangeable lens Q?) will purportedly take T lenses, so there's a path there. The T will be discontinued after current stock levels drop... Clearly ROI (Return On Investment) was a miss on this one, and is just one of the reasons behind the recent Blackstone Group shakeups at Leica HQ. Of course the company won't let on about this situation - by lowering prices... The X system faces a similar (short) future, which has thus far had decent, but relatively tepid sales as well. We've heard this from a few sources, so time will tell.
