You may recall, almost exactly two years ago - TA Associates acquired CMOSIS - the company that makes the sensor in the Leica M (Type 240). The news today is that AMS has now completed the acquisition of CMOSIS.

ams on 20 November 2015 announced that the company had entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in CMOSIS, a leading supplier of high performance area and line scan CMOS image sensors for demanding imaging applications. CMOSIS’ portfolio of low noise, global and rolling shutter, high dynamic range, and high frame rate image solutions serve a broad range of markets including machine vision, medical, broadcast, traffic, scientific and photographic imaging.
