The rumors are building up surrounding a new camera, currently known as the Leica M-D (Type 262). It will be based on the existing Leica M (Type 262) including size and shape - sans the LCD screen on the back. Same sensor, brass top/bottom plates. The price is suggested to be higher, however - roughly $6,700 vs. $5,195 USD. It should be arriving at the beginning of May. We'll keep you posted! Read more below for additional details and updates!

We've been saying for quite a while (since May, actually) that a new breed of M camera was coming - information that we received from a pretty credible source. However, we haven't been able to get any new information or further confirmation for a while now. When the Leica SL (Type 601) was introduced, it had us second-guessing if that wasn't it... But we don't think so. This new registration of a Leica M (Type 262) camera is renewing our faith in this original report that a new M camera is still coming.
