Most Leica M Firmware Updated

Leica Camera has today released new firmware for most Leica M models, including the Leica M (Type 240), M-P (Type 240), M (Type 262) and M Monochrom (Type 246). Leica Announces the M-D (Type 262) Camera

A camera we've been telling you about for a little while now - has been officially announced. The Leica M-D (Type 262) a.k.a. "poor man's M60." Essentially a mix between the Leica M (Type 240) and M (Type 262) - using the same 24MP sensor as both but without the live view and video as with the latter. What truly sets it apart is the lack of the LCD screen on the backside... Replacing it with an ISO dial (similar to the spendy Leica M "Edition 60"). The retail price is £4,650/€5,995/$5,995. The rumors are building up surrounding a new camera, currently known as the Leica M-D (Type 262). The price is suggested to be higher, however - roughly $6,700 vs. $5,195 USD. It should be arriving at the beginning of May. We'll keep you posted! Leica to End 12% Savings in USA

All things must come to an end... Including Leica's seemingly perpetual 12% savings program in the USA launched a year ago on May 1, 2015. Alas, this coming May 10, 2016 will mark the end of the program. Because of the weakness of the Euro to the Dollar exchange rate, the program was renewed an unprecedented twelve times; basically every month. Most M, S and TL lenses are going up with a range of increases from $79-$975 depending on the item. Better hurry! Read more below!
