Exposure

A weekly post exposing a Leica photographer who's work we and/or others enjoy!

Exposure: Jo Fischer

It's been a while since we had an Exposure post! We came across a gentleman from Berlin, Germany called Jo Fischer actually by way of this rather well put together video called Leica • Psycho (seen below) and had to share it. It's got a great style and catchy soundtrack. Well done! You may have seen his work and an interview in LFI or come across his photobook, "Wheels & Waves. You can check out the images seen in the video over here and more on his website and also catch up with him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Read more below!

Exposure: Gustav Arnetz

Our latest Exposure photographer is Gustav Arnetz who was born in (and based out of) Stockholm, Sweden in 1983. He has always had an interest for photography - but started taking it more seriously a few years ago when he bought a pre-owned Leica M9. He loves taking pictures of people, and has been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time in Mexico City where he has been doing photo shoots with musicians. His camera of choice is a Leica M (Type 240) and a Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH lens. Catch up with Gustav on his website, Facebook and Twitter.

Exposure: Alain Laboile

We haven't had an Exposure post in a while! So without further ado... Born on May 1, 1968 in Bordeaux, France, Alain Laboile is a photographer and father of six. In 2004, as he needed to put together a portfolio of his work as a sculptor, he acquired a camera, and thus developed a taste for macro photography, spurred by his passion for entomology. Later on, he pointed his lens towards his growing family which became his major subject : a life on the edge of the world, where intemporality and the universality of childhood meet. He just received a custom Leica M Monochrom, and is currently working on a book of Leica M Monochrom images and coordinating exhibition. Catch up with Alain on his website, on Facebook or LensCulture.

Exposure: Nicholas Putz

Regular readers will know we love these kinds of stories, where someone (re)discovers rangefinders. It's great that we can combine that with this Exposure post and introduce you to Nicholas Putz. Like perhaps many of us, he shot DSLRs (professionally) until he was fed up. In February of 2013 he started over with a clean slate and purchased a Leica M (Type 240) and Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. You can read the whole story in his blog entry, "Why I Love My Leica M (Type 240) Rangefinder Camera", check out his portfolio or Flickr stream. Follow Nicholas on his ">blog, Twitter feed, Google+ or on Instagram and more!

Exposure: Jip van Kuijk

For this week's Exposure post, we'd like to feature our friend Jip van Kuijk who hails from Arnhem, in the Netherlands. He writes, "I try to capture the world the way I see it, and keep it as real as possible. This way I capture moments in life I appreciate or find interesting and share them with the world." And the photos he captures are lovely snapshots of life indeed. Furthermore, Jip contributes to the Leica community by sharing his stories with us. You can catch up with Jip on Twitter as well as his website. He's also an active member here!

Exposure: Rena Pearl

We've been following this photographer on Twitter for a while, where her kind nature, interesting photos and enthusiasm have caught our attention. So for this Exposure post, we'd like to showcase... Rena Pearl! Based in London, she has 29 years of experience in many areas of photography, though she specializes in Corporate Headshots, Portrait, PR, Corporate and Reportage. Like most of us, she also pursues photography on a personal level. Not stopping there, she teaches and runs her own workshops, along with mentoring and coaching photographers. Amazing! Her tools of choice include the Leica M Monochrom and Leica M9 and enjoys B&W film and digital. You can catch up with Rena on her website and Twitter feed.
