JetPens just posted an interesting comparison of various brands of blue-black inks. It's interesting to see the range of hues, from violet to teal. They also examine the relative degrees of value, light-fastness and shading (tendency to pool).

Nice! I'll have to go check it out... I get my Iroshizuku inks from them.

Here's a comparison of blues I did a while back.

Wow! Nice job. I had forgotten about the Waterman South Seas blue. I used that years ago with a Waterman pen, but the pen leaked and ruined a shirt, and I got rid of both the pen and the ink. Hmmm....is that like throwing out the baby with the bath water? :?

Thanks!

Ha! Why yes, it is. I love the South Seas Blue, especially in flexy and wet noodle pens. The shading is insane! For everyday use, maybe not so much. That's more of a Florida Blue or plain Blue-Black.
