Really, Canon? A prosumer feature like interchangeable lenses on a totally amateur body (that is, lacking any manual controls)... What are you thinking? What's the point?

They'll sell plenty at places like Best Buy. That type of camera consumer doesn't really know much beyond what the salesperson tells um ;)

I'll say one thing that's got me intrigued... It'd make a nice "rear lens cap" for some of my EF lenses... Like maybe the EF 35mm f/1.4L USM. Though with the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM it might look a little funny (and with the EF 300mm f/2.8L IS USM downright hysterical). :)

The Nikon D800 killer too!

I'm sorry but I just cannot see taking pictures by having to hold the camera with arms stretched out in front of me. With any camera.

LOL... :)

It's funny you should say that. Every time I pick up a P&S (even my former Canon G9 or current S95) I think the same thing. At least the G9 had an "optical VF" (I use that term loosely). It's just such an unstable (read: shaky) and unnatural way to hold a camera. Ugh. Granted, these little beasties have gotten quite good and advanced... But I just can't warm up to them. It doesn't help that I can't read a damn thing on the screen without glasses (and I only wear them for reading). So even if I did get on with 'em, they'd just be a pain in the ass. Plus, you can't read them at all if your sunglasses are polarized.

As cool as I think "live view" might be in the "M10" - I don't think it's going to blow me away.

I have a Ricoh GRDIII that I bought for a long hiking trip I did last year. They make an optional OVF that I bought for it just so I could have the camera up to my eye. But what is really cool about the camera is as you're looking through the OVF you can see the green autofocus lock light that's right next to it when the camera has focused.

My GXR has the same light but I prefer using the EVF for it.
