Rocky Nook, a Santa Barbara, California publisher specializing in digital photography and digital workflow books, came out with The Leica Photographer by Bertram Solcher earlier this year (2015). The 144-page hardbound book, printed in Germany, is illustrated throughout, mostly in black and white (although a chapter on Leica Customer Care features a number of color photographs including close-ups of Customer Care work stations).
Referencing his own very nice work, Solcher - a professional photographer - addresses various aspects of rangefinder photography in day-to-day situations, with the aim of helping Leica M shooters get more enjoyment in using their cameras. He aims to accomplish this without producing another instruction booklet, and he is successful in writing in the tone of one friend speaking familiarly to another. He touches briefly on selecting gear, picture editing and creating a portfolio. Interspersed among these chapters are short picture essays in different venues and on different subjects (a polo match, a motorcycle event, and his daughter's growing-up, for example), and exercises to challenge the reader to put some of the author's suggestions into practice.
Available from Amazon in print and Kindle editions.
