However, the uric acid could damage the mounts, or coatings. Certainly it would remove some lubricants. Certainly a CLA is in order but would a quick rinse do more harm than good. A quick call to service would be in order.... but expect some snickering.

Look at the bright side: cats are very territorial, and it may have been marking the lens as part of its domain. From a cat's perspective, this may be a compliment. ;)
